Library is right in the middle of town.
  • 23
Prettiest courts, quietest in terms of tourism, rich, biggest library, best boathouse
  • 23
One of the larger colleges in terms of number of undergraduates, while still being very central.
  • 21
Really great freshers accommodation right next to the humanities faculties.
  • 21
Opened a new boathouse in 2016 that has a gym and space for ~30 boats.
  • 21
    Best library in Cambridge!!!
  • 20
The students are really sociable and care about each other.
  • 18
Having MDR and eating in hall really frequently means we are a very sociable college and you will never feel alone unless you want to.
  • 18
Really good supervisors and great academically.
  • 18
The Library is beautiful and very well stocked. It used to be the university library. They are very willing to order books into the library for students.
  • 17
You can't get more central than this college
  • 16
Best library in Cambridge by far. One of the biggest collections of books and the most workspaces of any college library. Much better than Trinity or John's library.
  • 16
Really great student union which runs lots of events throughout the year.

this college is where neal was exposed for vast violence

The comment that says it is "bad at rowing" is a lie. We're now close to or head of the river in all sets of bumps.
  • 4
minimum dining requirement requires you to eat in hall 36 times a term as an undergraduate (by paying for it in advance!)- this can be seen as a pro or a con.
  • 1
    Sometimes I feel too central
  • 1
    Bad at rowing
  • 1
The Fresher's accommodation is not in the main college and it's a 15 minute walk between the two.

  • 21
    Nothing
  • 2
It's very stingy and rent is very high, despite being one of the richest colleges!

First year rooms are situated all together on the Harvey Court site on West Road. The Stephen Hawking Building is very modern. Rooms have big windows and en-suites. Masses of storage in Stephen Hawking Rooms to use whilst you go home for holidays (I basically managed to store everything here when I went home at Christmas). You don't need to worry about keys in SHB either as you use your University Card to get into your room. First year accomodation is also right next door to Sidgwick site which is perfect for Humanities students.

Great freshers accommodation. I would argue the Stephen Hawking Building and Harvey Court offer the best accommodation in Cambridge. You have great rooms with en-suite, really nice kitchens and plenty of outdoor lawns to sit on and enjoy in the summer at Harvey Court.

Standard student rooms, often near churches

There are a handful (about 2-3) ensuites in 2nd and 3rd year. The houses are old, toilets/plumbing isn't great, the rooms are just bare rooms with some furniture placed inside it as opposed to having a modern design with shelves etc. Some rooms have sinks, others don't. In general the only great thing about our accommodation is that many are in the centre, though there are some houses off Parker's Piece too.

Caf hall normally only happens on a Saturday but it is really good quality and the best value for money of almost all the colleges.

Hi - I do not believe these ratings to be accurate. Please don't be fooled by the high-stars Caius has one of the worst kitchens in Cambridge. In fact I regularly pass the back door where you can see the chef sitting outside having a fag while his meat is being overcooked inside. For sides - you will face potatoes every day. 2.5 years into university, I try my best to have meals at other colleges.

The may ball is very good value for money. It was one of the best nights of my Cambridge life. No queues to get food, unlimited food, unlimited drinks. Video games inside, a mini-golf course, a donut wall! Everything you could wish for and more!

Really great quality formals. Many others will say "formals" at Caius aren't as good as other colleges. That is because the name formal at Caius is used to denote a second sitting of normal everyday dinner at which fellows are present and everyone wears gowns. Our actual formals called "Formal Formal" or "Superhall" are incredible and are usually some of the best of any college.
